LEARNING 3D TOOLS

In the classes about the 3D technology we learned about the differents digitals tools presents in the market and a little about the process of each program (Sketchup, Blender or 3D Max)

In architecture this tool can be used for differents proposites. Like tool to project, to study the volume, to show the project to a client, etc.

In this homework we have to draw a house. Could be the same house used in the last homework (CAD exercise). And we can o choose the program, Sketchup, Blender or 3D Max. I choose the sketchup because I've been use since Brasil.

My house is the NM House.

To start to draw I firs get the CAD drawing and cleaned it. Remove the differents layers, colors and texts:

After this, I opened the Sketchup and imported the clean file. 

I start to draw creatting layers. Gradually I was covering the lines of the imported file.

At the same time I draw, start to put in layers and added texture. This facilitates to see the differnts elements.

The most part of elemests I draw and make a group or a component, how the chimney, the windows,the doors, the stair, etc. With repetitives elements the best are the components, because after you copy you can change one element and will change all from the same component.

The stairfor exemple is a block where each element is a component. All the steps are derived from one componet, copied many times. The windows are componets too, and their elements either.

I also use blocks already done download from the web, like the sofa, the table and the vet.

Atthe last I put the roof and did the verend.

 Finished all the 3D I did some scenes from the point of viewof a person and take images. 

 Thisis the final result. 

CAD Software

Continuing with the posts of the matter of Digital Tools, in the lasts 2 mounths we have been learn about softwares to help inthedvelopment of Architecture. The firt was the CAD (computer aided design). This kind of software works with vector and on real scale, what permites details everythink do you want with precision. The mosts famous are the Autocad and Archcad.

The exercise of this theme was choose a house and redraw it in Autocad. Some instructions was given in the class to help us. But like all the softwares the best way of learn is practicing.


NM HOUSE

To support we have pdfs with the plans and seccions of the house.

To start the draw I firt open a base file. How in my work in Brazil I use the Autocad  I have a file caller standard base with the layer I use and ctb (file that allows you to print the draw with thickness predetermined for color-lines). When the file opened I import the pdf file of the plan and starts to draw based on the picture. 

Gradually I was drawing and put in the layers.

After finish the basic plan I start to put  blocks. The blocks I imported from a personal librery or drawed and made a new block.

After finish all draws, plans and facades, put the dimensions line. The basic ones. 

 Finished all details I went to the Layout to organize the painel to print. In this part I created viewoprts and defined the scale of each plan or seccion and did the layout of the painel.

Fineshed the draw and the layout time to print. This is the part wherea choose the pen file (CTB), the sizer of the paper and extension I will print(pdf, jpg, etc).

DIGITAL TOOLS

In the matter of Digital Tools we have been learn about the general components of the virtual word. In the firts classes we learned about the differents operating systems.

Every computer must have a operating system (OS) to run other programs. An operating system is a collection of programs to manage the functions of the processor, input, output, storage and control of devices. The most known are Windows, Mac, Linux.

We also learn about the Clouds.  Clouds are services that work online. These services can be data storage (photos, videos, text, worksheets, etc), and even online programs. When you upload a file in a Cloud, this file can be accessed for you from any device with intrnet. 

       And about the application softwares. Acording to the website Techopedia, 

"Application software is a program or group of programs designed for end users. These programs are divided into two classes: system software and application software. While system software consists of low-level programs that interact with computers at a basic level, application software resides above system software and includes database programs, word processors, spreadsheets, etc. Application software may be grouped along with system software or published alone. Application software may simply be referred to as an application."

Examples: Autocad, Sketchup, Blender, GIMP, Inkscape, Photoshop, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

PROJECT III

       Other matter I'm studing is Project III. In this matter the student gradually acquires knowledge and strategies to address the architectural project.

      The firts exercise was projected a Museum for the town of Los Bañales.This is a Roman site that is located in the district of Uncastillo, northwest of the Zaragoza province. The ancient city is located in a privileged position over a wide expanse of land, where remains of a viaduct, dam, baths, forum, etc. Several excavations carried out recently to discover more about this region is that is already judged to the most important of the regions of the Five Towns.

PROPOSAL

ARCHITECTURAL EXPRESSION I

       At the begginers of the second half of September I start to curse the matter of Architectural Expression I. This classe is about learn the basic concepts off architecture from the drawing. The proportion, the dimension, the perception of the word from differents points of view.

       The firts exercise was drawing blocks. Study they proportion, etc. After was added others blocks. Paralele to this we had to draw rooms of ours houses.

       The second exercise consisted in study the House to Artists of Le Corbusier. We had to redraw the plans and do others secciones and axonometrics, as well as build a model.

       The third exercise was to analyze the Three courtyards House of Mies Van der Rohe. Redraw the plans and do axonometrics, this time with textures and shadows.

FIRTS WEEKS

       This blog is part of the assessment of Digital Tools' at San Jorge University in Zaragoza.

       Although we are in November, which is a little late, I'll go updating the blog briefly counting the first weeks in Zaragoza until now.

       I arrived to Zaragoza a exactly 3 months. I flew from Recife (Brazil) to Madrid making connection in Lisbon . When I arrived in Madri I discovered that my bag had been lost, so a came to Zaragoza only with my handbags. When I arrived, the first steps was find a place to live and roomates. Is not easy as it looks like. The firsts days I met some Brazilians who had already arrived and I got to know the city. Two days later I got to Zaragoza my bag arrived.

        After this messy week the activities  at the San Jorge University starts. The Welcome section began on September 3.

WEEK ZERO (Semana Cero)

       The Week Zero was a workshop to integrate the students of differents years and the intenacional students. The workshop happened at the Aragon School of Architcts in the Historical Center of Zaragoza with the participation of some professors of the University and importants architects invited. The theme of the Internacional Urban Workshop was "The city as a Manifesto". In all week we worked in groups with the proposal to think the city of Zaragoza  from an point of view of a manifest. 

       My group get the Futurist Manifesto of Marinetti. The objective was choose a neighborhood that represents the manifest and prepair a text, a panel and a video with the reflexions and conclusions of this relation. We choosed the Delicias Station for represent the new, the velocity, the ariived and departures, this moviment of people, cars, autobuses, trains, etc.
